About Us

LETS WORK TOGETHER TO SUPPORT EVERY YOUTH

Youth Sanctuary is an Independent Community Interest Group based in South East London.  We are on a mission to help youths aged 16-25yrs, in the UK to fulfill a glorious and successful life.   We help young people identify who they are, their vision and values and then help them on that journey until established.   We achieve this by mentoring, inspiring and motivating youths through onsite or one-to-one training sessions.

Since inception in 2020, we have grown from two to 25 regular members on our platform. non-executives and 1 young person.  Our approach, through training has proven to help tackle the youth crisis in this country (see testimonials.

The Problem

Unfortunately, many young people have not been told the truth about who they are in Christ.  They lack the basic foundation of fear of God, (reverence of God)  wisdom, goldly values such as love for God and others, empathy, vision etc. As a result, they have been left to navigate this dangerous world by themselves.  Even though they may  live at home, they are influenced by the world around them, such as TV, wrong associations, gangs, worry, anxiiety, lack of interpersonal skills, ego, mental health, disenfranchised, lack of confidence in their education ability and failures in the home.

If a child is left on their own for several hours in the day, they end up supervising themselves, they are heavily influenced, due to their immaturity and heavy reliance on peer networks. Furthermore, they are exposed to horrors on TV, crime in their local area, gangs, crime involving weapons, as a result the likelihood of depression, suicidal ideation and behaviour. psychopathology and other psychological disorders will occur.

The Youth Lifestyles Survey in the UK isolated the following risk factors for boys in the 12 to 17-year-old age group (Ben 2021),· Boys who were disaffected from school/persistent truants had a higher risk of serious or persistent offending· The use of drugs in the last year was a strong predictor of a serious or persistent offender, being nearly five times higher than for non-offenders· Young people who were less supervised by their parents and who had friends or acquaintances that had been in trouble were more at risk.· Boys who did not hang around in public places were less likely to offend than those who did. They released the following figures for risk factors of serious or persistent offenders: Factor
Percentage of serious/persistent offenders who   exhibited the factor Disaffected from school
36% Drug user (using drugs in the last year)
52% Hanging around in a public place
80% Delinquent friends or acquaintances
64% Poor parental supervision
47% Persistent truant – at least once a month
16%

The Solution

As a community and society we need to work together to train every child up in the way of the Lord.

OUR CORE VALUES

Our Core Values

1. Spirituality

This refers to instilling the fear of God into the life of all Youth.  The fear of  God, being  the reverence, submission and respect for God. It is an understanding that no one can have genuine feeling for men without the fear of God. This is why the fear of God is a fundamental requirement for a successful life..

2. Possibility Mentality

We want every young person to believe that they can have a successful future.  The truth is every child has a glorious destiny, however life circumstances may have eroded that ability by the tie a child become a youth.  Transformation begins by changing the way young people think of themselves and this is what will define his actual future. Our mission is to stimulate the dream of royalty and dream of dignity into all Youths so that they can begin to develop a royal attitude, cultivate royal habits and form royal character.  This fully validate the scripture that says, as a man thinketh in his heart, so is he (Prov. 23:7).

3) Capacity Building

Capacity Building here centres around skill development and we believe that lack of skill can kill any dream. While spirituality and mentality positions man for leadership, it is capacity that enables him to deliver.
Capacity Building in this context can be defined as possessing the ability to deliver a given task. This is why Covenant University will remain committed to academic excellence and continue to drive our students through the crucible of personal development in pursuit of their individual dreams.

4. Responsibility

It was Malcom Forbes that said "a man who enjoys responsibility usually gets it. We want to see every youth taking oresponsibility r their live, the youth around them and their community they liv in.  We expect them to respond to issues as demanded not as convenient. We believe in the place of discipline for an effective future for all and transformation of our communities.

I want all Youth to know the truth, and be set free from anything that may tryder, delay or stop their destiny  John 8:32, Hebrews 2:14

I want all Youth to know the truth, and be set free from anything that may try to hinder, delay or stop their destiny  John 8:32, Hebrews 2:14

My prayer and belief is that this generation of youth will experience a Revival, Acts 10:43-48  Amen

For years, many youth have not been told the truth about their redemptive rights.  As a result many have lived in bondage and defeat, fear, worry and stress and attacks.  Its time to rise up and cry out to God for a revival and preservation of this generation.

For fifteen years, our Director Rachel has provided services in her home city of London and, by the grace of God, is now expanding in the UK and worldwide.

This was my first time attending a prayer session for our teenagers and parents.  We need more of these sessions because our teens need Divine Direction to do well in the future.  Inviting other parents and me to gather together in prayer meant that you have an interest in our children's future.  God bless you.
